Thanks for checking out my blog! I am Anne, a 30-something stay-at-home mom to two wonderfully energetic boys, ages 7 and 5. My husband of 13 years, Jeff, is my biggest supporter. I could not have accomplished everything that I have without his love and support.
These “About Me” pages always throw me for a loop….I never knew how much people really want to know, so here goes:
I started running consistently in September 2009, approximately 4 weeks after the little one was born. My goal at that time was running to lose weight. At some point along the way, I fell in love with running and found myself. Now, about 50 pounds lighter, I am happy with my body for perhaps the first time ever in my adult life!
This blog was started because I received a lot of requests to tell my story on my weight loss and journey to my first marathon. Seemed like the finish of my first marathon was a good time to start! While I typically write about running, I will delve into other parts of my life, too.
Somehow, I convinced “I’m not a runner” Jeff to start running in July 2011. He has run a couple of 4-mile races, a 5K and completed his first 10K in June 2012! I am so proud of him!!!
Luckily, my good friend, Jamie decided to start running about a year after I did, after she saw how much fun (?) I was having. I love having company at races and during the long training runs. Running has become a very social part of our lives! We keep making new running friends and adding to our little group.
Running has convinced me that I am so much stronger; both mentally and physically, than I ever thought possible. It has introduced me to new friends and new opportunities. Many people ask me why I run…..
I run for health. I run for my family. I run for my sanity. I run for fun. Most of all….
I run for ME!
